Pressogno Espresso Medium Voted best Nespresso Compatible by Coffee Experts
How good is the Capsule Coffee of the Nespresso competition? In a K-Tipp tasting, "Pressogno" came first.
One of the large consumer magazine in Europe, K-Tipp, tasted capsules from eight different manufacturers. The selection included a comparable balanced Espresso blend.
The results of the tasting:
- Good:
- Only "Espresso Medium " from Pressogno received top score. The jury's verdict: "A mild, balanced Espresso."

- The "Espresso" from Café Royal came second,
- Third place was awared to "Espresso Media" from XO Noir
The jury criticized a "lack of body" .
- Below standard:
- The "Espresso" from La Mocha Caffè didn't fare well with the jury: "This is a coffee, but not an espresso blend."
- That was also true for the "Espresso Milano" from Denner ("watery consistency") and for
- "Caffè Vergnano from Espresso 1882 ("lack of flavour, watery ").
- Also not convincing were the "Espresso Classico" from Jacobs ("unclean note, rotten beans") and the
- " Supremo" from Aldi ("missing touch of coffee, cereal taste").
The Jury: Sensory Assessor Eugenia Klauser, Barista Nina Rimpl of Henauer Coffee in Hori ZH, food journalist Patrick Zbinden, Barista Giuliano Bartoli of the Zurich Bar La Stanza and confectioner Kurt Schempp in Zurich .
Tipp: The independent Consumer magazine K-Tipp also tested which coffee capsules work best with Nespresso coffee machines and Pressogno achieved a perfect score of 100%. Some coffee capsules got crushed by the Nespresso machines or only produced a watery coffee.
